Saturday MiniRoos Intra-club and Social Saturday Programs

MINIROOS INTRA-CLUB

The MiniRoos Intra-club program for 5-7 year olds takes place from 9.00am (8.30am first week) to 10.00am every Saturday between April 16 and August 27.  We have sent out a team list so check your email if you have registered your child.

What is involved?

With a focus on enjoyment and skill development in a non-competitive environment, this program is a fantastic way to introduce your child to football. Players are organised in relatively small groups of up 10 players with a “game leader”.   During the hour long session, the MPFC game leader will take the kids through a warm up followed by practical exercises and skill development. The aim is to let the kids learn by doing and playing, with minimal coaching from the game leaders. At the end of each session the group plays a small sided game where the players can practice the skills they learned during the sessions.

Where are you based?

The program is run out of the Middle Park Football Club Rooms in Albert Park Reserve. We start the season on the synthetics – a little walk from the club rooms – to allow time for the grass fields to recover from the impact of the Grand Prix. We then move to the fields directly behind the club rooms.

Parking

Parking is available directly in front of the pit building club rooms and in front of the synthetics. You can either put money in the meters or apply for a parking permit from Parks Victoria. Once you have registered with the club you can apply for a permit from Parks Victoria. Email mpfc.juniors.registrar@gmail.com to request the the required letter of confirmation from the club.

What do we bring?

Your child should come wearing comfortable clothing for football for their first session, e.g. T shirt, shorts and long socks, they will also need a pair of football boots, shin guards and a water bottle. Each participant receives a Middle Park FC football kit comprising of shirt, shorts and long socks.

Food and Drink

Food and beverage are available every Saturday morning and each team have been rostered on to assist. Here’s the roster.

This program is casual with a focus on enjoyment, social connection and fitness. We have two social teams for the 2016 season. If your child is registered for the Saturday Social Program you should have received a team list in an email from us.

The program takes place at the same time in the same place as the intra-club program and all other details are relevant to both programs.
