It it with great regret that Middle Park Football Club acknowledges the passing of Maureen Joy Tanner at the age of 63.

Maureen, known affectionately as Maurs, was the wife of Nick Tanner, a founding member of the Victorian Railways Institute Soccer Club, the forerunner to Middle Park FC. In the 1970s, the Tanner family formed the heart of the club. Nick played alongside his two younger brothers, Lyle and Steve, as well their eldest brother, the late Mick Tanner, former club President and Life Member. Not a weekend went by in the mid- to late-seventies when Maurs couldn’t be found cheering Nick and the rest of the Parkers from the sidelines.

Maureen passed away in Geelong on April 19th, surrounded by her family, after a year-long battle with ovarian cancer. The thoughts of everybody at Middle Park FC are with Nick and the entire Tanner family at this difficult time.
