Middle Park FC has been drawn to face near-neighbours, South Yarra SC, in the second round of the State Knockout Cup. Both clubs received byes in the first round of the competition. The tie will be played on the weekend of March 8-10. Venue and kickoff time are yet to be confirmed.
The cup tie will be the first of what will be several meetings between the two clubs, across all grades, in the 2013 season. The Parkers are set to meet South Yarra both home and away during the 2013 league seasons for Seniors, Reserves, Thirds, and Masters.
The Parkers were eliminated from the State Cup competition by South Yarra in 2011. In a tightly-contested match played in a torrential downpour at the State Football Centre, South Yarra prevailed by a 1-0 scoreline in the 3rd round of that year’s cup competition.
