The Latest Middle Park FC News

  • Middle Park Football Club is happy to announce that it has been selected by the City of Port Phillip for priority access to the council's new soccer pitch at JL Murphy Reserve in Port Melbourne. MPFC was selected as Council's first-choice after assessment of all Expressions of Interest submitted by the early-December deadline, beating out a number of other clubs.

  • Kicking off the second half of the season with a bang, Middle Park 3rds launched an outright assault on Altona from the get go. With the colossus of a ‘keeper Ian Chaplin returning to the fold and a Mark Hoey turning up sober as a judge, the 3rds were in a positive mindset from the outset. Numbers were thin for the team who called upon the help of outstanding club servants Teon and Ally Baron to sure up the squad. The first half saw the 3rds a little shaky on the ball at times but soon found their feet and excellent link up play in the middle of the park saw Adam Bell cross deep from the left to find

  • If I were to tell you that Bev, the kit lady, had to wash the strips three times following the Thirds 2-2 draw with Gisborne, you may have an appreciation for the conditions in which the game was played.  Following a seamless journey on the V-Line the match was to prove a little more eventful for Ben Cooksey’s men. Following the Round 6 win on the carpet-like surface of Albert Park synthetics the boys took their time to find their touch and judge the run of the ball on a less than perfect surface.  From the kick off Gisborne, who adjusted to the condition much more quickly, began to push back the Parkers.    At times, the midfield trio of Tortorici,

  • After the previous game, a draw at Old Scotch, the boys were keen to make up for dropped points even though their performance deserved much more. The venue was pretty much the exact same place as the last game, expect a massive motorway splitting the 2. This seemed to cause some of the players confusing with the Italian Stallion getting lost somewhere in Kew. He did try to explain it to this writer but I stopped listening very quickly. It was a stunning day for football, a nice flat park and a decent place to play football, which we certainly did at times. With the senior games being called off the day before we had Scott Linford and Jason Hart

  • Deja vu seen MP3rds return to the grounds of Old Scotch for our second round of the league. On a miserable rainy day Dicko brought us on a warm up, which lead us to such a confident start. There was nothing between the two sides in the first half and not many chances created as both teams went hard at it. Smart rotation by assistant coach Mark Keane, seen the introduction of our tough Queenslander Dave Houghton to mix it up, only to receive the quickest yellow card for an outlandish tackle. Spirt was kept high by the MP4's team singing and cheering us on. Second half the game opened up on both sides, great play from middle park lead to a

  • After a very long preseason of preparing for MPFCs first ever season in the top flight of the Metropolitan league (after four consecutive promotions in four seasons) it was time for MPFC 3s to take to the field for their opening round Vs Altona Lions, the team that finished 4th in last seasons campaign. Four MPFC debutants were in the starting line up with the French connection of Greg and Willy, Australia’s very own Mr Versatile James Battersby and Martin Helleborg fresh from filming the latest season of Vikings. Four months of preseason planning, recruiting and preparation went out of the window within the first minute as nerves got the better on the Parkers who conceded to Altonas first attack.
