Match Report:
Middle Park vs. Rowville Eagles

It was a nice Saturday afternoon, we got to play on a different home pitch and everyone was in a good mood as the news of Loftie scoring a goal for the ressies spread around like wild fire.
First up, the ref made it clear from the start that he was… well… a prick. As he waddled his body towards the team to give his speech he didn’t take a shine to Nani and wouldn’t let him start the game with his shin pads so the first couple of minutes we were Nani-less. We didn’t let that bother us as Stevo showed Rowville what we are all about by slotting the ball past the keeper after a pass from Esti. 1-0.
Throughout the game we had to shift our formation as the ref kept taking our players off for trivial reasons, one being Super Kev had a tiny cut on his knee. The Midfield was absolutely brilliant with Super Kev winning everything for the Parkers in midfield and Mickey Furnace showing his silky class. Nathan was enjoying creating chances down the wing like he always does making it obvious he’s the best winger in the league, however he was very unlucky not to get a goal or two. Tiddy continued playing like a true team player making sure he could hold the ball and lay it off to others, unfortunately his best opportunity in the game to break his drought was tipped over the bar by the goalie’s fingertips. During the game the Parkers had minor scares of letting Rowville back in the game but Brian made sure that was not the case; the defence was unbelievably strong with Gav’s speed stopping any attacks down the right wing, Nani and Wayno’s composure was second to none as they always did their job and did it well, absolute class. Cookie, the captain of the day was amazing, he was always first to the ball and was leading the boys by example, he was like a solid Bastion, an old fashioned centre back, he was like Terry Butcher with a bandage around his head, and unfortunately he left the game with a cut above his eye. Stevo…. What can be said about the kid, he was exceptional on the day, just when we needed a second goal he put the team on his shoulders and made a great run past defender after defender until he slotted the ball past the keeper again for his brace. Ali made his first appearance for the Firsts and was very impressive, made excellent decisions with the ball and defended perfectly without it. Loftie came on for the last 10 minutes and was superb, he looks like a Care Bear but he’s tough like a mofo and made sure that Brian left with a clean sheet. Big dick came on for the injured Cookie in the last 5 minutes and made sure nothing went past him, great class from the tall man.
Great win once again and a clean sheet for the Parkers.
